will show you four methods to make a good amount of money on RuneScape,
regardless of how long you have been playing. These methods can be used
in both free to play and pay to play.
The 4 methods in this article will help you get a good start on RuneScape.
Method 1. Feathers
Chickens are one of the easiest monsters on the game to kill. They NEVER do any damage. Despite their ease to kill, you can still make a very large amount of money in a very small space of time.
Feathers are currently worth 16gp each. Chickens can drop 5 - 15 feathers at a time. Meaning you would make 80gp - 240gp per chicken. Feathers are also stackable, so you will never run out of space.
Killing chickens can also help increase your combat skills, however i do not suggest training magic at chickens as you will spend more on runes than you will receive from the feathers.
Method 2. Cowhides
For every cow you kill you receive a cowhide. These are worth 223gp each currently. You simply kill the cows and pick up the hides, then bank them when necessary.
This method is better to use once you have reach level 20 in attack, strength and defence (you may train at chickens for those levels). Cows can do small amounts of damage and have more than double the health of chickens, meaning they take longer to kill.
Collecting cow hides you can make about 60,000gp in an hour.
Method 3. Softening Clay
This method should only be attempted once you have at least 50,000gp.
Clay currently costs 168gp, whereas soft clay costs 334gp. Buy yourself as much clay as you can along with 14 buckets, then go to Varrock east bank. You need to have those 14 buckets with you, along with 14 clay and run to the fountain that is north west of the bank. Fill up your buckets and use them on the clay. This will soften the clay.
For each clay you soften you make 166gp. Which is almost doubling your money that you spent on clay! This can get you almost 100,000gp in an hour.
Method 4. Mining Rune Essence
Rune essence is one of the best ways to make money in free to play RuneScape. It requires nothing more than the completion of the quest "Rune Mysteries", although, the higher your mining level the more effective it is.
To get started (after having completed "Rune Mysteries") head to the Varrock east bank and withdraw the best pickaxe you can use. Then run south to the rune shop and right click the shop owner. Then select the "Teleport" option.
Once you have been sent to the rune essence mining area, find one of the essence rocks to mine and fill up your inventory. You will then want to find a teleport and use it to return to the rune shop. Simply bank your essence and repeat.
This method can get you a lot of money, very fast. It also trains mining up at a reasonable rate.
